Pomegranates

Heavy for their size, with a leathery red skin and a crown at the blossom end. Split one open and the seeds come out in ruby clusters, sweet-tart and loud with juice.

Scatter the seeds over salads and roasted vegetables, press them for juice, or eat them by the spoonful. Grown on our hillside in Wildomar and picked the day they leave the tree.
